تشمل المسؤوليات الرئيسية ما يلي:
- تقديم القيادة الأكاديمية والإدارية لقسم علوم وهندسة الحاسوب
- قيادة والإشراف على عمليات الاعتماد الأكاديمي (ABET) وضمان الامتثال لمعايير ومتطلبات هيئة الاعتماد الأكاديمي (CAA)
- دعم التحسين المستمر من خلال التقييم، وتقييم مخرجات التعلم، واتخاذ القرارات المستندة إلى البيانات
- تدريس مساقات مرحلة البكالوريوس بما يتوافق مع احتياجات القسم
- قيادة تطوير أعضاء هيئة التدريس والتوجيه وتقييم الأداء
- إنشاء و/أو الاستمرار في خطة بحثية معترف بها وطنياً أو دولياً
- تشجيع ودعم الحصول على تمويل خارجي للبحوث
- تمثيل القسم على مستوى الكلية والجامعة، والمشاركة في اللجان الرئيسية
- الإرشاد الأكاديمي وتوجيه الطلاب
- تعزيز أنشطة التواصل الخارجي، والتعاون مع القطاع الصناعي، والمشاركة المجتمعية
المؤهلات المطلوبة
- الحصول على درجة الدكتوراه في الذكاء الاصطناعي أو أحد تخصصات الحاسوب ذات الصلة من مؤسسة معتمدة
- خبرة مثبتة في القيادة الأكاديمية، مثل العمل كرئيس قسم، أو منسق برنامج، أو في دور مماثل
- خبرة مثبتة في اعتماد ABET، بما في ذلك التقييم والتوثيق وعمليات التحسين المستمر
- المعرفة والخبرة بمعايير الاعتماد الأكاديمي (CAA) ومتطلبات إعداد التقارير الخاصة بها
- خبرة في التدريس على المستوى الجامعي
- سجل قوي من النتاج العلمي والإنتاجية البحثية

Associate Professor in Artificial Intelligence

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) invites applications for an outstanding
Associate Professor in Artificial Intelligence to play a leading role in the University's
Advanced Technology and AI Center.
This position offers a unique opportunity to combine
leadership, research, and teaching in a dynamic and rapidly growing environment, with a strong emphasis on
industry engagement, applied research, innovation, and strategic collaboration. The successful candidate will contribute to building partnerships with leading technology companies, research organizations, and international academic institutions while advancing AURAK's vision in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
Applicants should demonstrate a strong academic and research profile in
Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, Data Science, or related fields, with evidence of scholarly achievements, externally funded research, and industry collaboration. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching, mentor students and researchers, lead innovative projects, and support the growth and impact of the Advanced Technology and AI Center.
Primary Responsibilities Include
- Providing academic and administrative leadership for the Department of Computer Science and Engineering
- Leading and overseeing ABET accreditation processes and ensuring compliance with CAA standards and requirements
- Supporting continuous improvement through assessment, learning outcomes evaluation, and data-driven decision-making
- Teaching undergraduate courses aligned with departmental needs
- Leading faculty development, mentoring, and performance evaluation
- Establishing and/or sustaining a nationally or internationally recognized research agenda
- Encouraging and supporting the acquisition of external research funding
- Representing the department at the school and university levels, and serving on key committees
- Advising and mentoring students
- Promoting outreach activities, industry collaboration, and community engagement
Required Qualifications
- Earned Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence or a related computing discipline from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated academic leadership experience, such as serving as department chair, program coordinator, or in a comparable role
- Proven experience with ABET accreditation, including assessment, documentation, and continuous improvement processes
- Knowledge of and experience with CAA accreditation standards and reporting requirements
- University-level teaching experience
- Strong record of scholarship and research productivity
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and student success
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty and student population
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across disciplines
