Overview & Responsibilities

Purpose of the Job This position is the senior level support for the Global Service business unit, Europe Middle East and Africa (EMA) Region with responsibilities for collaborating with the Director of GS EMA and the Global Director of EHS to execute deliverables for the business and regulatory requirements. This position will be indirectly collaborating with the Vice President of Global Services. This is a senior level leadership position that requires strong understanding of and compliance with all environmental, health, safety laws and regulations, as well as customer specific policies, procedures, and customer site policies. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the EHS program for Global Services EMA Region including strategy setting, tactical deployment of strategy, educating and coaching GS Operations in the Region. For the EMA Field Operations, this position is responsible for directing pre-planning and on-site EHS activities including pre-qualification requirements for employees and contractors, site entry request and notifications specialty equipment needs, and supporting all customer needs. This position is customer facing and has authority and responsibility for executing EHS activities in accordance with required standards. For EMA Repair organization, this position is responsible or EHS performance, including improvement plans and support for EHS regulatory compliance for all service shops in the EMA Region. Specific Job Responsibilities/Competencies
  • Directly support and implement the strategies for Global EHS and GS BU while maintaining a focus on the tactical execution of EMA region programs.
  • Coordination with other GS regions in establishing best practices and standardized approaches to problem solving.
  • Lead and direct activities for strategic and tactical execution for GS EHS staff within the EMA Region with direct focus on external customer support.
  • Identify and mitigate risk related to GS operations by implementing controls to reduce liabilities and associated financial costs.
  • Establish processes and control emergency response systems for EHS related events serving as a highly visible, customer-facing leader to drive safe and sustainable resolution.
  • Identify, establish, and maintain formal standardized processes including procedures and ISO complaint systems. Direct the standard processes for managing customer required data (insurance, total recordable incident rate, procedures, policies, documentation, and medical and health information) and reporting regularly and accurately to maintain approved supplier status. This includes extensive communication to Elliott’s customers for pre-qualification surveys; reporting updated information feeds into industry-established databases; and liaising with internal legal counsel, risk management, and procurement for consistent outputs.
  • Direct the alignment of GS EMA EHS processes with other regions and manufacturing operations to drive standardization throughout Elliott.
  • Manage the incident investigation process for Global Services EMA, including supporting root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action determination, and identify trends, best practices, and opportunities for incident prevention.
  • Providing leadership and technical guidance for Global Services EMA and EHS support personnel within the Region.
Background and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental and/or Health and Safety Science or related field (or equivalent relevant experience) plus a minimum of 5-10 years of applicable experience in a manufacturing or petrochemical environment.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and written skills is required, as this position must interact with all levels within Elliott, Elliott subcontractors', and Elliott customers' organizations.
  • Working knowledge of EHS regulatory framework in the Region and EHS management systems.
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, databases, and internet-based systems) required.
