Job Purpose (who are we looking for?)

Our company is searching for a qualified and experienced Inventory Controller to be in charge of the auto spare parts warehouses, Your objectives will include the overall management of warehouses including the deployment and supervision of local employees, control in/out stock flow, conduct comprehensive plans, calculations and analysis for demand forecast, follow up on stock movement trends and maintain efficient utilization of time, space, and human resources. 

To qualify for the role, the ideal candidate should have minimum of University Degree/Post Graduate Diploma in supply chain with proven 5 years’ experience in auto spare parts or related fields, alongside to excellent knowledge of the subject matter the candidate must be familiar with the latest industry trends and techniques. In addition to being an excellent communicator (written and verbal), you also need to demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Inspect the levels of business supplies and material to identify shortages on timely manner.
  • plan ways to optimize inventory control procedures
  • Ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand from customers.
  • Record daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory
  • Use software to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory
  • Place orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus
  • Analyze data trends to anticipate and forecast demands and future needs.
  • Collaborate with warehouse employees and other staff to ensure business goals are met.
  • Design shelves and stock placement procedures.
  • Maintain shelve neatness, labels and update stock cards for easy access.
  • Identify fast moving, slow moving and high value stocks.
  • Report to upper management on stock levels, stock movements etc.
  • Reduce costs, improve cash flow, and boost your business's bottom line.
  • Real time tracking of your inventory.
  • Maintain accurate and real time stock counts.
  • Conduct a comprehensive inventory analysis and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports.

Requirements (Person Specifications):

-       A minimum of University Degree/Post Graduate Diploma in supply chain Management/inventory control or related field

-       A minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in inventory control and supply chain management preferably in automotive spare parts or related field.

-       Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other inventory management software’s.

-       Good written and spoken English and Somali

-       Good supervisory and leadership skills

-       Strong analytic and problem solving skills
