General Description of Role and Responsibilities:
- Development and implementation of project systems, processes and strategies to ensure contract timelines are adhered to and monitor and ensure teams compliance with deadlines as stipulated in the respective Contract.
- Adhere to and maintain familiarity with any client processes and procedures.
- Provide analysis and evaluation of submitted claims, including:
- Evaluation of contractual entitlement.
- Identify, collate, and evaluate relevant facts and records, liaise with respective teams, and provide analysis and responses based on facts, documents, and contract requirements.
- Prepare, brief, and advise strategies for claim resolution, defences, and counterclaims.
- Provide independent conclusions and recommendations related to claims and disputes, ensuring that robust contractual, factual, and commercial input is considered.
- Assess the potential for and entitlement of Client claims and advise accordingly.
- Provide all appropriate advice and support to the clients regarding disputes.
- Preparation and issuance of contractual letters and respective responses to contractual letters.
- Undertake audits and reviews of budgets, interim payment certificates, requests for Client approval of additional costs and interim payment certificates.
- Manage team to achieve common deliverables and keep adequate project and contractual records.
- Oversee coordination between departments, ensuring effective communication and team responsibilities.
- Provision of contractual inputs to monthly reporting.
Skills
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelors Degree in Quantity Surveying or Engineering and a minimum of 15 years experience.
- Professional Membership such as RICS, CIOB, and CIArb with additional qualifications in construction contract law is desirable.
- Pre and post-contract experience working for Cost. Consultants, Employers/Developers/end users, Contractors, or Project Management Consultants is essential.
