IT - Manager, Payments

Payment System Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the organization's payment processes and systems. This role involves managing electronic payment systems, ensuring compliance with regulations, collaborating with financial institutions, and implementing efficient and secure payment solutions. The Payment System Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing financial operations, minimizing risks, and improving the overall payment experience for both internal and external stakeholders.


  • Manage and maintain electronic payment systems, ensuring they operate seamlessly.
  • Monitor the performance of payment platforms and address any issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with Business teams to implement system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance standards related to payment processing.
  • Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive payment information.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
  •  Establish and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions and payment service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and service-level agreements with vendors.
  •  Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend suitable partners.
  •  Identify opportunities to streamline payment processes and enhance efficiency.
  •  Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
  •  Conduct regular assessments to identify areas for optimization.
  •  Monitor and analyse transaction data to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  •  Collaborate with the legal team to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  •  Generate regular reports on payment system performance and key metrics.
  •  Analyse data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management.

Skills

  •  Computer Science or equivalent degree graduate
  • 10 + years’ experience in handling payment systems in a small to mid-sized bank.
  •  Understanding/experience of Islamic banking products
  •  Strong skills and experience in producing management presentations.
  •  Strong analytical skills
  •  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
  • Ability to execute and follow through to completion and documentation.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), presentation skills, and experience in liaising with Central Bank / external entities
