Safety engineer (saudi national)

Job Description: Following a recent review of the current staffing levels as well as the review of future resources and succession capability, Saudi Arabian Parsons Limited (SAPL) are looking to introduce a Safety Engineer to work within the Program Management Department at the Yanbu Industrial City Program and oversee the Departments HSE function and team. In this role will be responsible for review and implementation and monitoring of the Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) programs. Responsible for providing advice on various safety aspects to all stakeholders, and for encouraging everyone to pursue safe work practices and to maintain safe conditions at their work sites. Investigates and prepares reports on accidents with an emphasis on prevention and/or recurrence. Key activity will include (but is not limited to): Assists the HSE Supervisor in the Program Management Department in developing/managing and implementing the job site safety program. Inspects the construction job sites to detect and directs corrective measures for immediate implementation. Initiates and supports accident investigations to minimize recurrence and prepares internal investigations and retains findings of these records. Documents HSE violations/noncompliance using various media. Conducts audits/inspection and monitors the HSE performance of all construction operations. Assists HSE Supervisor in identifying and investigating elements of unsafe conditions and unsafe acts. Inspects work area, construction sites, machinery, equipment and working conditions for compliance to Royal Commission standards and procedures. Coordinates/Communicates with contractors, and RC RCM’s/RCE’s to rectify/resolve safety issues. Provides HSE guidance and education to other engineers/inspectors. When required provide cover, assist and support HSE data analysis and HSE coordinator work The experience, qualifications and credentials required for this role are: Bachelor's degree or above in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum three (3) years, post-graduate professional experience in the field of Health, Safety & Environment Professional level of HSE certification. Requires computer literacy and capable to operate current computer safety programs. The ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English is essential. Specific technical requirements are: Min 3 years’ experience as safety engineer or equivalent, in construction operations. Must have ability to perform with minimum supervision and work cooperatively with Construction Department staff and contractor personnel. Provide professional HSE support to Construction Department as necessary during construction phases.
