Receiving and Inspection:
- Receive incoming goods and materials and verify their accuracy against packing lists or purchase orders.
- Inspect items for any damage or discrepancies and report any issues to the Warehouse Manager.
Storage and Organization:
- Safely store items in designated areas within the warehouse or storage facility.
- Maintain a well-organized and clean storage space, ensuring easy access to products and materials.
- Apply appropriate storage methods to ensure product safety and quality.
Inventory Management:
- Keep accurate records of inventory levels and update inventory databases or systems.
- Monitor stock levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts and notify the Warehouse Manager when reordering is necessary.
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
Packing and Dispatch:
- Prepare items for dispatch, ensuring they are properly packed and labeled.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks or vehicles for delivery and receipt of goods.
Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, including receipts, invoices, and shipping documents.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and company regulations regarding documentation.
Health and Safety:
- Adhere to safety standards and guidelines, including the proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Report any safety concerns or violations to the Warehouse Manager.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and storage racks.
Communication:
- Collaborate with other team members, including procurement and distribution teams, to facilitate the smooth flow of goods.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and carriers for coordination and issue resolution.
Skills
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in warehousing or logistics is a plus.
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally in a warehousing or logistics environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse and inventory management systems is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good physical condition, able to lift and move heavy objects.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, safely.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
