Job Purpose & Scope

Carries out mechanical maintenance and repair activities either on site or in the workshop on various types of machinery and equipment.

Principal Accountabilities

• Receives instructions, obtain specified material, spare parts and tools and under the guidance of a Senior Technician carries out inspection maintenance, repair and overhaul of a variety of heavy plant and equipment in accordance with company standards, codes and practices.
• Dismantle, repair or replace various equipment and reassemble either on site or in the workshop. Carries out appropriate final tests under supervision.
• To obtain work permits duly signed by the Area Authority and necessary safety precaution to be taken.
• May issue comprehensive daily activity reports outlining the cause of fault, the nature of the work and the materials, labor and time taken to complete the work.
• Receives, identifies and sorts out incoming spare parts, components and consumable; prepare, tag and ship out-going mechanical maintenance freight.
• Ensures all maintenance activities are conducted within company standing instructions and procedures and good oil industry practice.
• Receives permits under temporary delegated Authority as Senior Technicians.
• Observes and follow company HSE Procedures to ensure work is carried out in a safe manner. Exercise good housekeeping practices.
• To carry out toolbox meeting before starting the job and escape areas are clear in case of emergency.
• To share and transfer knowledge to the Technician and crew regarding the job.
• To be able to use special tools related to his job.
• To be able to use all measuring tools and instruments related to the job.
• To make sure that all jobs are carried out as per ZADCO policy, HSE procedure, and work is carried out in a safe manner and good housekeeping is the best practice.
• Not to use substandard tools or homemade tools which can lead to a severe injury.
• To make sure that the trouble shooting is been diagnosis before starting to rectify the faults.
• To share and transfer knowledge to the incoming U.A.E. National and to guide them and familiarize requirements for integration.
