Job description

1. To understand all procedures of the hospital cleaning and use of all basic cleaning equipment. 

   
   

   To supervise work activities of Housekeeping personnel to ensure clean, safe & sterile environment in all areas of the hospital.

   
   

1. Checking the timely-on-site availability of Housekeeping staff and overseeing their cleaning activities on day to day basis to keep the Hospital clean and sanitized at all times;

   
   

   1. Ongoing training of Housekeeping staff  according to  Hospital standards and policies; 

      
      

   2. To ensure effective and timely Implementation of scheduled weekly special tasks and to periodically arrange for high rise cleaning of areas within the Hospital;

      
      

   3. To strictly ensure that medical waste collection and disposal  is as per safety and hygiene standards; 

      
      

   4. Responsible for maintaining the inventory of hospital equipment and cleaning supplies. Liaising with Hospital stores and outsourced vendors for the smooth and timely supply to avoid interruption/delay of services;

      
      

   5. Timely and effective intervention with patients/hospital staff in resolving of complaints/issues , if any; 

      
      

   6. Monitoring of Housekeeping staff’s compliance as per scope of service agreed in Vendor’s contract;

      
      

   7. To create and accurately maintain Housekeeping personnel files;

      
      

   8. To facilitate coordination and scheduling of inter-departmental mandatory trainings i.e. Infection Control/Fire & safety ;

      
      

   9. To ensure and coordinate with Infection Control in giving Hepatitis B vaccination to prevent infection;

      
      

   10. To ensure Pest Control service is carried out every month in anticipation and prevention of potential pest risk to avoid secondary infection and ensure patient safety;  

       
       

   11. To ensure daily supply of quality safe drinking water and periodic maintenance of dispensers to avoid infection; 

       
       

   12. To  ensure monthly provision of safe and non-toxic Air Fresheners  to facilitate odorless and fresh environment; 

       
       

   13. To track specified monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)  that enables to evaluate and measure the performance in reaching targets laid down by the Hospital Management;

       
       

   14. To facilitate Joint Commission International (JCI) applicable standards for Housekeeping to  improve patient safety and quality of healthcare;

       
       

   15. To send monthly waste disposable/electricity/water  statistics to the Corporate with the aim to monitor/regularize/improve the consumption;

       
       

   16. To facilitate in the assessment of Hospital’s performance periodically by Dubai Health  Authority/ Dubai Municipality or  any other;

       
       

1. College Graduate 

   
   

   1. General knowledge of the procedures, equipment and supplies used in housekeeping. 

      
      

   2. Ability to plan and supervise the work of housekeeping personnel.

      
      

   3. Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills. 

      
      

   4. With good spoken and written English communication skills. Arabic language is advantageous/desirable but not essential.
