Implement and monitor project-specific QA/QC procedures for civil construction activities.
Review project drawings, specifications, BOQs, method statements, ITPs, and quality requirements.
Conduct inspections of civil works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and construction procedures.
Inspect excavation, earthworks, backfilling, compaction, foundations, reinforcement, formwork, concrete, masonry, waterproofing, drainage, roads, utilities, and finishing works.
Prepare and submit Inspection Requests and coordinate inspections with consultants and client representatives.
Verify that construction activities are executed using approved materials, drawings, method statements, and procedures.
Review material submittals, delivery documents, test certificates, and material approvals before use at site.
Coordinate with laboratories and third-party agencies for required material and site testing.
Witness concrete slump tests, cube sampling, soil tests, compaction tests, reinforcement inspections, and other applicable quality tests.
Verify test results against project specifications and acceptance criteria.
Maintain proper traceability of construction materials, test reports, inspection records, and approvals.
Conduct regular site inspections and identify defective, incomplete, or non-conforming works.
Raise NCRs, observations, and quality notifications where work or materials do not meet requirements.
Coordinate with construction teams to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor and verify timely closure of NCRs, observations, punch points, and quality-related issues.
Ensure approved drawings and latest revisions are available at site before commencement of work.
Verify reinforcement size, spacing, lap lengths, cover, formwork dimensions, levels, alignment, embedments, and anchor bolts before concrete pours.
Monitor concrete pouring activities, including pre-pour inspections, delivery, slump, temperature, cube sampling, placement, vibration, finishing, and curing.
Inspect earthworks and ensure proper excavation, filling, compaction, levels, and testing are carried out as specified.
Inspect waterproofing, protective coatings, sealants, and other specialist civil works.
Ensure construction materials are properly stored, protected, and handled in accordance with project and manufacturer requirements.
Review subcontractor quality documentation and monitor compliance with project QA/QC requirements.
Participate in quality meetings, technical coordination meetings, and site inspections with clients and consultants.
Support internal, client, consultant, and external quality audits.
Ensure measuring and testing equipment used for inspections is properly calibrated and within validity.
Maintain QA/QC documentation, inspection logs, test reports, NCR registers, material records, and quality trackers.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports as required.
Monitor recurring quality issues and support implementation of preventive measures.
Assist the Senior QA/QC Engineer in preparing project quality dossiers and close-out documentation.
Ensure as-built information, inspection records, test certificates, approvals, and other quality documents are properly compiled for handover.
Promote quality awareness among construction teams and subcontractors.
Perform other QA/QC duties assigned by the Senior Engineer or Project Manager.
Good knowledge of civil construction QA/QC practices.
Strong understanding of concrete, reinforcement, formwork, earthworks, foundations, drainage, roads, waterproofing, and finishing works.
Knowledge of Inspection and Test Plans, Method Statements, NCRs, observations, and corrective actions.
Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical documents.
Good understanding of material inspection and laboratory testing procedures.
Knowledge of relevant standards such as ASTM, BS, EN, ACI, and project-specific specifications.
Familiarity with UAE construction standards and authority requirements.
Strong inspection, reporting, documentation, and record-keeping skills.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong coordination skills with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and construction teams.
Good knowledge of MS Office and document-control systems.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
