The IRC Yemen began its programs in October 2012. Since establishing its presence in the South of Yemen, in the Red Sea Coastal city of Aden, the organization has grown from just an implementing small project to handling large scale emergency and relief operations. Following the war which broke out in Yemen in March of 2015 and the humanitarian disaster, which was crafted by the same, IRC launched one an emergency response program in the southern governorates of Aden, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwah and Aldalea.  Currently IRC Yemen is operating in eight governorates in the south and north of Yemen and Sana’a and Hodeidah in the North through direct programming and through local partnerships, in Health, WASH, Nutrition, Economic Recovery Development, Education, Child Protection, Gender and Women Protection and Empowerment.

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) have been working in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) for more than forty years. Today, the IRC has more than 2,200 staff working across the region, including in Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Syria, and Yemen to support those affected by some of the world’s most complex and protracted humanitarian crises.

SCOPE OF WORK:

The IRC Yemen Country program has been established in 2012, and currently is implementing coordinated Health, Nutrition, Environmental Health (WASH), Economic Recovery and Development, Women Protection and Empowerment and Education programming in eight governorates. It operates with main offices in Sana’a and Aden. Other subfield offices include Abyan, Hodeida and Al Dhale’a, with Al Dhale’a office also covering Lahj, and Abyan office covering activities in Shabwah.

JOB SUMMARY:

He or She will be responsible for the quality and accuracy of nutrition program data in Aden, Abyan, Lahj, Al Dhale’a and Shabwah. 

WORKING RELATIONS:

Position Reports to:  Senior Nutrition Surveillance and Data Management Officer.

Position provides technical support and mentorship on information management.

Other Internal and/or external contacts:  Nutrition team.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities:

1: Ensure that beneficiaries' cards have the right tools to compile reports as needed.

  • Translate survey-related questions and their responses from English to Arabic and vice versa.
  • Translate conversations that take place between foreign and local employees.
  • Assist data management staff if requested.

2: Complete data entry and share reports on time as per agreed deadlines.

  • Keep a record of the nutrition data and share it with relevant staff as needed.
  • Providing timely and detailed feedback whenever identifying any significant gap in the program activities. 
  • Systematically screens and cross-checks internal and external reports, situational reports, information and communication material for accuracy and consistency.
  • Ensure to detail all means of verifications for Nutrition program activities for a range of different donors.

3: Perform any other task needed and requested by the supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS: (Qualifications, Skills and Abilities):

A.    Education and Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Computer Science, or equivalent courses in the English language Graduated from 2020 – 2023. 

B.     Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in English and Arabic.
  • Shown understanding of English would be an advantage.
  • Computer knowledge is needed.

C.    Proficiencies:

  • Strong team spirit, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills, observation, and analysis capacity.
  • Attention to detail and a structured way of approaching tasks.
  • Able to ensure quick quality delivery in stressful environments.
