Scope of Work (SOW):
Job title: Consultant, Local National, MAMI Nutrition Program

International Medical Corps is seeking a national consultant with expertise in MAMI to support in rolling out the MAMI Care Pathway in 6 HFs in Al Dhale’e governorate in the south of Yemen and working with the health and nutrition team, documenting how to integrate the Care Pathway and its tools into the existing health, and nutrition services, including MHPSS, perinatal care-PNC, EPI, and IMCI.

Task Description:

  • Perform a desk assessment of the present state of MAMI programming and implementation, pertinent policies, strategies, and guidelines in Yemen, in addition to the shared experiences from other NGOs.
  • Coordinate and discuss MAMI interventions with the Nutrition Cluster and MoPHP and decide on a few healthcare facilities.
  • Using the currently available MoPHP MAMI package, arrange and build the capacity of the IMC H&N program personnel in MAMI.
  • Assemble and modify the MAMI monitoring instruments to be utilized in conjunction with the IMC monitoring/supervision plan and reporting specifications.
  • Create a plan for HWs' on-the-job training, as well as community health and nutrition volunteers.
  • Work with the IMC program team to ensure that all necessary input is available for implementing the MAMI approach at the targeted health facilities.
  • Create suggestions for improving the connections between the sites to which mothers and babies will be referred and the services that are currently in place.
  • Outline the process to be followed when adapting and implementing the Pathway.
  • Develop an action plan and timeframe for testing the Pathway and outline the required monitoring mechanism to track adaptation and implementation.
  • Prepare a final report for the implementation of the approach highlighting key challenges, lessons learned, and strategic recommendations for future program development.

Qualifications and experience:

  • University degree in Health, Nutrition, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience in nutrition programs.
  • Experience in implementing the MAMI approach in Yemen is essential.
  • Leadership qualities, motivational skills, mentoring ability; proven experience overseeing and developing a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Excellent time management skills and resourcefulness with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
