Position Reefer Technician

Reporting to Workshop Manager

Purpose To use a working knowledge of reefer systems to conduct maintenance, fault-finding, and diagnostics on existing systems. To maintain temperature cooling, to required standards and to maintain those systems while upholding safety guidelines and complying with codes and regulations.

Key Responsibility Areas

· Troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of components on truck and trailer refrigeration units.

· Maintaining transport refrigeration unit on trucks and trailers by performing diagnostics using scanners, electronic test equipment.

· Completing preventive maintenance, component replacement, and service to refrigeration equipment.

· Installing various new units on trailers, trucks, and vans.

· Must do miscellaneous jobs as assigned by manager.

· Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicle.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education High School plus ITI

Experience 3-5 years of relevant experience

· Number of repairs done per day

· Number of spare parts used per day.

· Number of delays in diagnosing the problem

· Number of delays in repairing

Competencies

· Proven experience as a reefer technician

· Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines

· Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability

· Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.
