The Role Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive MEP cost estimates for high-value interior fit-out projects. You will work closely with the commercial, design, procurement, and operations teams to develop winning bids while ensuring commercial viability and technical compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) works on commercial fit-out projects.
- Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications and scope requirements.
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs from drawings and BIM models where applicable.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Analyse project risks, value engineering opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.
- Develop pricing schedules, BOQs and tender submissions.
- Liaise with design, procurement and project delivery teams throughout the tender process.
- Attend site visits, pre-tender meetings and client briefings when required.
- Ensure estimates are completed within tender deadlines and company standards.
- Maintain current knowledge of market rates, suppliers and subcontractor pricing throughout the UAE.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an MEP Estimator within the UAE or GCC.
- Proven experience pricing commercial interior fit-out projects.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and ELV systems.
- Excellent knowledge of UAE suppliers, subcontractors and market rates.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, commercial and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience working for a Tier 1 fit-out contractor.
- Knowledge of BIM-based quantity take-offs.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts.
- UAE driving licence
