Role Description This full-time Interior Designer role is an on-site position based in Dubai, UAE. The Interior Designer will develop creative design concepts for residential and commercial projects, ensuring functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces. Day-to-day responsibilities include space planning, preparing design presentations, selecting materials and finishes, coordinating FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment), and producing detailed drawings for execution. The role involves collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors, overseeing design implementation, and conducting site visits to monitor progress and quality. The Interior Designer will also communicate with clients to understand their requirements, present design proposals, and incorporate feedback within project timelines and budgets.
Meet clients to understand their requirements, preferences, budgets, and timelines. Develop design concepts, mood boards, space plans, and material palettes. Prepare layouts, elevations, detailed drawings, and 3D visualizations. Select furniture, finishes, lighting, fabrics, fixtures, and accessories. Produce technical drawings and documentation for construction and fit-out. Prepare design presentations, material specifications, and BOQs. Coordinate with architects, MEP consultants, contractors, suppliers, and project teams. Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with approved designs. Review material samples, shop drawings, and contractor submissions. Resolve design and site-related issues promptly. Ensure projects are completed within the approved budget and timeline. Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, safety standards, and project requirements. Stay updated on interior-design trends, materials, products, and technologies. Maintain accurate project files and design documentation.
Qualifications Strong Interior Design skills, including concept development and visual storytelling. Proficiency in Space Planning to optimize functionality, circulation, and user experience. Knowledge of Architecture and construction principles to collaborate effectively with project teams. Ability to produce accurate Construction Drawings and technical documentation. Experience with FF&E selection, specification, and coordination with suppliers and vendors. Competence in design software (e.g., Auto CAD, Revit, Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite) and MS Office. Relevant degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field. Strong client communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects. Familiarity with local building codes, materials, and construction practices in the UAE is an advantage. Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field. Relevant professional experience in interior design for minimum 4 years. Experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, or retail projects is preferred. Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity and technical expertise. Proficiency in Auto CAD and software such as Sketch Up, 3ds Max, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar applications. Good knowledge of materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and fit-out processes. Ability to understand technical drawings, space plans, and construction documentation. Site coordination or project-management experience is an advantage.
