Amazon payment services seeks a world class Financial Analyst to provide end-to-end financial support to one of our fastest growing business units and a key business partner with Amazon payments commercial team.

Primary responsibilities will include the management of the following areas: billing, cash, and settlements to external merchants. The role also includes daily key reconciliations to ensure compliance with regulatory schemes and external / internal audit procedures.

This is a highly visible role within Amazon MENA payments team and a great opportunity for candidates looking for a challenge and a place to shine.

The right individual will have strong financial knowledge, great communication skills, and solid business acumen. He or she will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment, and possess effective verbal and written communication, and logical reasoning. While this role reports to Head of FP&A - APS, he/she is expected to independently own and lead reconciliations and communicate effectively with APS’s stakeholders and business leaders. The candidate will also be reporting on the performance of a product within the organization on a daily basis in key business and financial reviews.

The successful candidate must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically and manage multiple competing priorities effectively. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of superior financial analysis and developing/delivering recommendations based on this analysis. This person must thrive in a fast-paced environment. He/She will help drive the growth of the organization by providing financial stewardship and analytical insights into key financial and operational performance metrics. They will be a strategic partner to the business and assist in driving operational processes. This person must have a passion for detail and the ability to dive deep into the foundational building blocks, they also need to be attentive to details. The candidate will also push manual processes automation, continuously improve internal controls.

This role requires a self-starter a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and an excellent track record of communication and handling multiple tasks.



Key job responsibilities

Billing management: Set up the price / merchant in the BackOffice for merchants through retrieving the Sales Proposal and ensuring the pricing is matching with the agreement. Then the candidate will choose the correct pricing template and update it in the system.


Cash Management:


a) Pulls the daily opening bank balance shown in the safeguarding account on a daily basis and inputs the balance in a sheet for the BI Team. This is to be performed before 9.30AM everyday.


b) monitoring of daily settlements by the bank to APS


c) close coordination with treasury on the movement of funds between accounts


d) monitoring of charge backs and ensuring that the funds owed to APS are settled


Reconciliations:

a) merchant payable to bank balances


b) remitted balance to APS v/s the bank files


c) the disbursements from the bank accounts to merchant accounts.


In case of any issues in the reconciliation process, the candidate needs to deep dive in the details to identify the root cause of the problem and communicate to all stakeholders until a solution is in place


Financial Planning & Analysis:

a) reporting of revenue / loss through a daily report


b) reporting of COP and ensuring its reconciled to the agreement in place


c) reporting on financial metrics in different forums: compliance, risk, business and financial


d) tracking actual vs budget to ensure forecasts are on track

Skills

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of finance experience

- 2+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

- Knowledge of standard software including Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL and VBA skills

- Experience in corporate finance including budgeting/planning, forecasting and reporting

- Experience using data to influence business decisions


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

- Experience in TM1, Data Warehouse and SQL
