IT Systems Administrator

Role Overview

IT System Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. They ensure the smooth functioning of the company's IT infrastructure.


Direct Reports – IT Manager


Key Responsibilities:

•             Install and configure operating systems, software, and hardware components.

•             Communicate status, risks, and opportunities to IT Manager.

•             Flexibility to work 24/7 operation atmosphere with different working shifts.

•             Provide onsite or remote technical support for branch offices and sister companies.

•             Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information and data assets.

•             Set up and maintain servers, including NAS file servers, email/exchange servers, and other applications, and printers.

•             Responsible for managing VMware virtualization Infrastructure.

•             Deploy and Manage network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

•             Responsible for managing IPPBX,DVR,Bio Metric Devices.

•             Monitor system performance and conduct regular maintenance tasks to ensure optimal operation.

•             Perform system upgrades, patches, and updates to enhance security and performance.

•             Manage local implementation projects & testing of applications and hardware upgrades.

•             Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions to safeguard data integrity.

•             Develop and test disaster recovery plans to minimize system downtime in case of failures.

•             Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.

•             Respond to user inquiries and provide training and guidance as needed.

•             Educate users on data security best practices.

•             Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.

•             Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

•             Generate reports on system performance, incidents, and resolutions.

•             Collaborate with other IT team members, for integrated and secure system operations.

•             Liaise with vendors and third-party providers for system-related services and solutions.

•             Update SOPs as and when needed.

•             Ensure that company data is secured and in line with stated standards and best practices.






Skills

SKILLS

•             Experience in VMware /Hyper-V virtual infrastructure.

•             Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows server 2019,2021 , Windows 10, Mac, Linux, etc.

•             Experience in Installation and Administration of Windows Servers, Roles, AD, DHCP, DNS, Terminal Services, and file services.

•             Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.

•             Microsoft SQL server Administration Experience.

•             Experience in Microsoft Exchange Server, Office 365, and Gsuite Administration Experience.

•             Proficiency in Mimecast email security.

•             Proficiency in webhosting/domain hosting platforms.

•             Experience in storage management, including configuration, provisioning, and optimizing storage arrays and data storage systems such as SAN, NAS, and RAID.

•             Proficiency in Azure cloud infrastructure services. (Compute, storage, networking, databases, etc.).

•             Strong knowledge of backup and recovery concepts, methodologies, and best practices.

•             Experience with backup software solutions Veeam, or similar.

•             Familiarity with backup storage technologies (disk-based, tape-based, cloud-based).

•             Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.).

•             Experience with network hardware and software, including Cisco,Fortinet, juniper, firewalls, switches, and latest wireless technologies.

•             Familiarity with network security best practices and technologies (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, etc.).

•             Proficiency in Next Generation Antivirus like CrowdStrike, Sentinel One .etc.


Qualification/Certifications

•             Master/Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science.

•             Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

•             Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

•             High expectations

•             Ability to work under pressure and within short deadlines

•             Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA).

•             CCNA.

•             VMware Certified Professional (VCP).

•             Firewall Certifications (Preferred).

•             ITIL (Preferred).

•             Azure /AWS Certifications (Preferred).
