As a key member, you'll be responsible for estimating, designing, coordinating, and overseeing the installation and maintenance of buildings' mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. - Assist in developing tender cost summaries, including equipment, materials, and manpower calculations.
- Implement technical estimating standards and procedures.
- Prepare detailed budgets for projects based on accepted bid prices.
- Conduct pre-tender quantity surveying work.
- Prepare and send inquiries to suppliers & subcontractors in segmented packages.
- Assist managers in negotiations with suppliers to align with the approved budget.
- Log proposals and tenders into the database for cost tracking and historical reference.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of bids and post-tender amendments as required.
- Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings with main contractors and client representatives.
- Prepare and build up Bill of Quantities (BOQ) from design drawings and site surveys.
- Design and plan HVAC, Electrical systems (LV, HV, FAS), and Plumbing systems: water supply, drainage, and sewage disposal in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Create detailed drawings, schematics, and specifications for MEP systems.
- Identify design problems in MEP engineering and develop practical solutions.
- Prepare cost sheets, technical submittals, drawings, construction documents, and correspondence.
- Prepare payment applications, evaluate subcontractor invoices, and certify them for payment.
- Analyze variation claims (Cost & Time) by reviewing IFC drawings, revised drawings, and shop drawings to identify any possible variations to the client.
- Conduct inspections and tests to ensure proper installation and functionality of systems.
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field is required.
- Thorough knowledge of DEWA/DM/DCD regulations is essential.
- Strong expertise in both Mechanical & Electrical System Applications, design principles, and building codes, including proficiency in the corresponding equipment, materials, consumables, tools, and manpower allocations related to Mechanical works for building projects.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and engineering simulation tools is necessary.
- Excellent communication skills are crucial for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients effectively.
- Project management abilities are required to oversee MEP projects from conception to completion.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient and sustainable design practices is preferred.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and calculations are essential.
- Prior experience in MEP engineering, construction, or related roles is beneficial.
- Commitment to quality and safe work practices is expected.
- Possession of a valid UAE Driving license is necessary.
