Job Description:

Our hospital is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Medical Laboratory Technologist in Dubai. This opportunity was announced by the hospital on December 15, 2023 and is now open for applications from interested candidates. The incumbent will perform laboratory tests which may include various assays following established procedures or protocols.

Responsibilities of Medical Laboratory Technologist

• Operates requisite laboratory equipment and instruments; records data; maintains and makes minor adjustments to equipment.

• Uses universal / standard safety precautions to protect self and co-workers from biohazardous materials, including blood-borne pathogens.

• Complies with biohazard/radiation safety standards through proper handling of potentially hazardous chemical and biological agents in the workplace.

• Prepares solutions, reagents, and stains following standard laboratory formulas and procedures.

• Monitors inventory levels, orders materials and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures, counts orders upon receipt.

• Knows the informal policies, procedures and practices necessary to conduct the normal function of a specific section, unit, or work area. Is aware of the role of the position and its potential impact on the working unit.

• Carries out duties and responsibilities with limited supervision.

• Makes decisions and establishes work priorities on essentially procedure-oriented operations.

• Must perform blood collection procedures in both pediatric and adult patients.

• Must order the reagents and spare parts with coordination of colleagues.

• Will not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything (information, equipment, plant, personnel, etc.), provided at the workplace in the interest of health, safety, welfare or protection or management of the environment.

Requirements:

To qualify for the role of Medical Laboratory Technologist, you must possess the following:

• Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.

• At least 3+ years of Medical Laboratory experience.

• Current licensure in country of origin and with DHA license to practice in Dubai, UAE
