Senior Accountant - Payroll

Reports to: Chief Accountant


Job Purpose:

To coordinate with HR for reconciliation and payment of payroll. To organize and compute staff payments and benefits as per company policy and labour laws of the Country. To record staff costs and produce in a monthly statement by cost and revenue centres.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Monthly checking of Master Element with Previous Month Master Element.
  • Pay Register comparison with previous month pay register.
  • Verify and execute payment on all staff payment requests initiated from HR Department
  • Ensure compliance of company policies and labour laws of the Country
  • Maintain Schedules and Monthly Salary processing
  • Update and maintain Staff Advance Schedule.
  • Prepare schedules for Prepaid School fee, Prepaid Housing Allowance, Prepaid Visa Cost.
  • Maintain Provision for Air Fare & Service Award
  • Record payroll entries in the general ledger
  • Ensure pay checks are correct and delivered on time.
  • Maintain employee records; ensure that changes in employee base are entered correctly and updated on a timely basis.
  • Coordinate between accounts and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data.
  • Verify attendance, hours worked, transfer, pay raises, payroll discrepancies and benefit plans.
  • Give suggestions on modifications in payroll policies and procedures
  • Verify promotion & Increment Letter with the standard matrix Approval form 
  • Types of payroll errors to be spotted by running reports.

Experience requirement:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounts/payroll in any industry
  • Proficiency in both verbal and written in English
  • Excellent skills using MS Word, Excel, Access, MS Excel


Qualification and Licenses requirement:

  • Bachelor/ Master Degree in Finance
