Flight Operations Engineer - 24000071

MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

To provide technical expertise on all Flight Operations Engineering aspects, including aircraft performance, weight and balance, ‘MEL’, ‘APM’, Operations Manuals, fuel conservation, and operating cost optimisation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assesses and actions performance related ‘NOTAMs’. 
  2. Monitors and updates the airport database.
  3. Provides performance engineering assessment of new airports.
  4. Designs and validates engine out procedures to optimise takeoff and landing performance.
  5. Provides technical advice and assistance on all aspects of Flight Operations Engineering.
  6. Drafts performance related documentation, ensuring all relevant updates are captured and published with all supporting material. 
  7. Ensures that all Flight Operations Engineering procedures are compliant, optimised, and updated.
  8. Updates the ‘Weight and Balance’ documents and ‘Departure Control System’, including aircraft reweighs and new interior configuration.
  9. Assists in the maintenance and update of the MEL.
  10. Provides analysis and guidance on any aircraft performance related non normal procedures, or dispatch under MEL items. 
  11. Conducts aircraft performance, weight and balance, and Boeing OPT staff training.
  12. Provides key input and support for fleet and route evaluation.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

Minimum Education Level Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent)

Education / Experience Specific Requirements

  • Degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in an airline or manufacturer Flight Operations Engineering role required.
  • Experience of freighter W&B preferred.
  • Boeing 737 knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Preferred No. of Years (with Relevant Degree) - 7
  • Preferred No. of Years (without Relevant Degree) -  10

ISR Requirements
Reads and complies with the ISR policies of the Company and diligently reports any weakness or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. Completes all required ISR awareness sessions and follows associated guidelines in the day to day business operations.
