Synopsis:
Supervise the Load Controllers performing load control activities for Etihad and customer airline flights, for both Abu Dhabi Hub and global airport CLC departures. Ensuring compliance with regulatory and company procedures, delivering operational excellence, efficiency, accuracy, legality resulting in safe and secure flight departures.
Accountabilities:
- Manage flight allocation for all Load Controllers on shift both for AUH Hub and global airport departures.
- Accountable for load planning various aircraft types in accordance with current company (and other airlines) weight and balance rules and guidelines; from flight creation and estimating zero fuel weights, to the production of the final Load sheet and other necessary aircraft documentation.
- Monitor outstations compliance with external / internal regulations to ensure alignment with Etihad safety standards and CLC processes and procedures.
- Identify trends and address system and process deficiencies with Manager Hub Training and Load Control Delivery, leading change ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and improving safety standards associated with both AUH and global load control.
- Lead the entire load control team and performance manage via MyPerformance and the daily Performance Log spreadsheet. Manage and assess the performance of all direct reports, conduct one-to-one meetings as required during each performance review cycle.
- Manage the on-time submission of documents for 3-month manual load control recency requirements. Ensure Load Controllers have sufficient knowledge of all regulatory documentation and can navigate to the correct storage source, i.e. intranet for GOM, GOB, INTELEX, ensuring the team maintains company and regulatory compliance
- Monitor day-to-day activities and make operational decisions to manage and mitigate operational safety and security-related risks on a shift basis associated with assigned tasks, through effective evaluation and decision-making based on conditions, hazards, and threats.
- Report identified hazards and occurrences and escalate risks to appropriate management, as applicable.
Education & Experience:
- Educated to secondary school level – preferably with Maths and/or a science qualification.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position (load control/dispatch) working at a major international airport.
