We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Master Cutter to join our small business, specializing in women’s suits, blazers, abayas and dresses. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of fabric types, skilled in both traditional and modern tailoring techniques and expertise to cut patterns and fabrics with precision. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our garments, contributing significantly to the overall success of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fabric Cutting: Accurately measure, mark, and cut fabric according to design specifications and patterns.
• Pattern Drafting: Collaborate to create and modify patterns for new designs.
• Garment Assembly: Assist with sewing and assembling garments as needed.
• Maintaining Records: Keeping detailed records of measurements, patterns, fabric usage, and client preferences.
• Work area: Maintain a clean and organized workplace, including sewing equipment and supplies.
• Operate and maintain sewing machines and other tailoring tools
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with tailors, seamstresses, and other production staff to ensure seamless workflow and production.
• Training and Mentoring: Training junior staff and guiding them on proper techniques and industry standards.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and techniques to continuously improve and innovate within your role.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Master Cutter
• Must know how to make women’s blazers, suites, Abaya and dresses.
• Proficient in using cutting tools, pattern making, and understanding different fabrics
• Proficiency in using tailoring equipment, both traditional and digital.
• Exceptional precision and accuracy in cutting and pattern drafting.
• Proficiency in hand-sewing and machine sewing.
•  High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in tailoring or fashion design is a plus.
