Roles and Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations.
- Installing fire alarm systems, include wiring, sensors, control panels, and alarms, ensuring they comply with safety regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections and testing of fire alarm systems to verify functionality, documenting findings accurately.
- Respond promptly to service calls for troubleshooting and emergency repairs, minimizing downtime for clients.
- Collaborate with fire safety engineers to design and implement system upgrades that enhance safety features.
- Provide training to clients on the operation and maintenance of fire alarm systems, ensuring they are well-informed.
- Generate detailed reports on system performance and maintenance activities for client records and regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge in the use & interpretation of NFPA, UAEFC, ADCD codes, Standards and Regulations.
- Stay updated on industry standards and technological advancements to recommend system improvements.
- Coordinate with local fire departments to ensure systems meet required safety protocols and regulations.
- Assist in the development of fire safety plans, integrating alarm systems into overall emergency response strategies.
- Maintain inventory of equipment and tools necessary for installations and repairs, ensuring readiness for assignments.
- Should have Knowledge of Installation and Testing of Fire Pump, Sprinkler, Fire Hose Reel,
- Installation and Extension of Fire Fighting pipes as per drawings issued
- Can perform preventive and corrective maintenance for firefighting pumps, valves, sprinklers, meters, pipes etc.
- Rectification / Trouble shooting pipes and fittings for firefighting systems
- Must understand Drawings
- Knowledge in the use & interpretation of NFPA, UAEFC, ADCD codes, Standards and Regulations.
- Installing fire alarm systems, include wiring, sensors, control panels, and alarms, ensuring they comply with safety regulations.
- Maintenance of fire alarm systems to ensure they are functioning correctly, includes checking detectors, alarms, and control panels for faults.
- Troubleshooting issues with fire alarm systems and firefighting equipment, such as extinguishers and sprinkler systems, to diagnose and resolve problems.
- Repairing or replacement of faulty components within fire alarm systems and firefighting equipment to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
- Maintaining detailed records of all inspections, tests, maintenance, repairs, and installations performed on fire alarm systems and firefighting equipment.
Skills
- Working experience operating electrical and non-electrical laboratory equipment.
- Remarkable command of the communication aspect through written and verbal modes.
- Proficient in autonomous work by maintaining high standards under pressure.
- Proficient in handling all the functionalities of conventional and digital equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in fire alarm technology preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as NICET Level I or II in fire alarm systems, demonstrating technical proficiency.
- Minimum of 2- 3 years of hands-on experience in installing and servicing fire alarm systems in commercial settings.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, with an eye for detail and safety.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation manuals effectively.
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients and team members clearly and professionally.
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting equipment and working in confined spaces.
- Familiarity with local fire codes and safety regulations, ensuring compliance in all tasks performed.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and software for fire alarm systems, enhancing repair efficiency.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus for working in diverse environments.
- Understanding of local fire codes and regulations (ADCD)
- Previous experience as a Fire Fighting Technician (2-3 Years)
- Knowledge of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, fire pumps, and sprinkler systems
- Keeping up to date with advancements in fire alarm technology and firefighting equipment through training and certifications.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair fire protection equipment
- Understanding of local fire codes and regulations (ADCD)
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid certification in fire protection systems or related field (desired)
- UAE Driver's license preferred.
