Roles & Responsibilities
We're hiring on behalf of a leading global power and grid automation company for a Drafting Engineer role, based at their manufacturing facility in Sharjah. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate engineer to build a career in substation automation and protection systems within a global engineering team.
This is an office-based drafting role supporting the engineering and design of Conventional Control Systems (CCS), Busbar Protection (BBP), and Monitoring & Diagnostics (M&D) projects. You'll work closely with the engineering and manufacturing teams on new substation builds, extensions, upgrades, and retrofit projects.
Desired Candidate Profile
Support engineering and design documentation for protection relays, panels, protection logic diagrams, GA/LA drawings, and bills of materials
Prepare production documents: wiring tables, label lists, cable schedules, interpanel wiring files
Assist with CT/VT adequacy checks and relay setting calculations (training provided)
Revise drawings based on internal and customer/consultant comments
Coordinate with panel manufacturers and support technical clarifications
Liaise with the engineering and manufacturing team at the Sharjah facility
Support testing and panel integration activities at the facility as needed
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
1–2 years of relevant experience (graduate engineers welcome to apply)
Familiarity with AutoCAD and engineering drafting tools; E-Base knowledge preferred but not mandatory — training provided
Exposure to protection relay systems (MiCOM, DGA900, MS3000, or equivalent platforms such as ABB, Siemens, or Schneider) is an advantage but not mandatory
Strong MS Office skills
Fluent English
