Role Description The Owner role at Green Nest Africa is a full-time, on-site position based in Nairobi, responsible for leading the overall strategic direction, operations, and growth of the organization. Day-to-day tasks include defining and refining the business vision, setting strategic goals, and making key decisions on investments, partnerships, and new initiatives. The Owner oversees financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure sustainability and profitability, while maintaining a strong focus on environmental and social impact. This role involves guiding and mentoring team members, establishing operational processes, and fostering a collaborative, inclusive workplace culture. The Owner also represents Green Nest Africa in meetings with stakeholders, community partners, and regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with local regulations and alignment with organizational values.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong leadership and strategic planning abilities, with experience in guiding organizations or business units through growth and change. Candidates should possess business management and financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and responsible resource allocation. Candidates should possess skills in stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and relationship-building with partners, investors, and community representatives. Candidates should possess an understanding of sustainability, social impact, and ethical business practices relevant to the East African context. Candidates should possess excellent communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to work on-site in Nairobi and collaborate with diverse teams. Experience in entrepreneurship, social enterprise, or environmental initiatives is highly beneficial. A bachelor’s degree in business, management, economics, environmental studies, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered.
