Roles & Responsibilities

The General Manager – Civil Contracting leads the overall operations, strategy, and business growth of the Civil Contracting Division under Galadari Ventures. The role is accountable for driving project profitability, operational excellence, client satisfaction, and sustainable expansion of the contracting portfolio. This includes full P&L ownership, execution oversight across multiple projects, and leadership of engineering, commercial, and site teams to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget. The position demands a commercially astute leader capable of steering large-scale civil projects while building organizational capability, ensuring compliance, and strengthening the company’s market presence in the UAE construction sector.

1. Strategic & Business Leadership

• Develop and execute the division’s business strategy in alignment with Galadari Ventures’ overall goals.
• Lead annual business planning, budgeting, and financial performance tracking.
• Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and bids to expand the contracting portfolio.
• Drive cost efficiency and margin improvement across projects.

2. Project Execution & Operations Management

• Oversee end-to-end delivery of all civil projects, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and time standards.
• Review and approve project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and cash flows.
• Implement robust project governance, reporting, and risk control mechanisms.
• Ensure compliance with local authority regulations (Dubai Municipality, DCD, Trakhees, etc.).

3. People & Organizational Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop project, engineering, and site management teams.
• Foster a results-oriented culture with accountability and collaboration across functions.
• Drive workforce planning, training, and succession for critical project roles.

4. Client & Stakeholder Management

• Build and sustain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.
• Represent the company in negotiations, contract discussions, and key external forums.
• Ensure timely resolution of project escalations and contractual issues.

5. Governance & Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to HSE, quality, and compliance standards across all sites.
• Work closely with Finance, HR, and Procurement to maintain cost discipline and operational integrity.
• Provide accurate project and financial reporting to the CEO and Board.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s in Construction Management or MBA preferred).
• 20 - 25 years of experience in civil contracting, with at least 15 years in a senior leadership or GM-level role.
• Proven track record in managing multiple medium-to-large projects (commercial, industrial, or infrastructure).
• Strong commercial, contractual, and financial acumen.
• Deep understanding of UAE construction regulations, safety standards, and market dynamics.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
