Job Description – Design Manager – Wet Utilities Job Title: Design Manager – Wet Utilities Location: Abu Dhabi, UAEEmployment Type: Full-Time Role Purpose The Design Manager – Wet Utilities will lead the Wet Utilities design team and manage the delivery of infrastructure and master planning projects. The role requires strong technical expertise in water networks, irrigation, firefighting, district cooling, stormwater, and sewerage systems, along with proven experience in UAE consultancy projects and authority coordination. The position will be responsible for managing design submissions, technical reviews, multidisciplinary coordination, and obtaining approvals from relevant authorities including DMT, ADM, ADDC/TAQA, ADSSC, and DOT.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Wet Utilities Engineering Section, ensuring timely and high-quality design deliverables. Manage the design and coordination of wet utility infrastructure projects including:Water transmission and distribution networks. Internal water networks. Irrigation main and internal networks. Firefighting networks. District cooling networks. Stormwater drainage networks. Sewerage networks. Review and approve technical drawings, calculations, design reports, specifications, and tender documents. Manage design development from:Concept Design Preliminary Design Detailed Design IFC Design submissions Lead hydraulic modelling and network analysis activities for water distribution systems. Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and government authorities for technical approvals. Manage authority submissions, NOCs, NOIs, and approval processes. Ensure compliance with UAE standards, project specifications, and authority requirements. Review and address client comments, technical queries, and design change requests. Coordinate with Roads, Dry Utilities, Structures, Transportation, and other engineering disciplines. Attend client meetings, technical workshops, and coordination meetings. Support preparation of tender documents and technical clarifications. Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and designers.
Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Minimum 15+ years of experience in Wet Utilities Design and Infrastructure Engineering. Proven experience as:Design Manager – Wet Utilities Head of Wet Utilities Section Strong UAE consultancy experience in infrastructure and master planning projects. Experience delivering projects for Abu Dhabi authorities and utility providers.
