Your key duties

We are seeking a motivated Senior - Wet Utilities Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of civil infrastructure and wet utility networks across some of the region’s most ambitious infrastructure and masterplanning projects.

As part of our regional infrastructure team, you will:

• Undertake the design and delivery of wet utility infrastructure projects including potable water, wastewater, stormwater and irrigation networks.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, schedules and design drawings.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful integration of wet utility designs within the wider infrastructure scope.
• Support the delivery of projects from concept and preliminary design through detailed design and construction stages.
• Liaise with clients, utility authorities and other project stakeholders to obtain approvals and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Assist with project planning and programme management to achieve timely and high-quality project delivery.
• Review design outputs and support quality assurance processes in accordance with Buro Happold standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to graduate and engineer-level team members.
• Contribute to developing innovative and sustainable engineering solutions for utility infrastructure projects.
• Support proposal preparation and technical input for project bids and opportunities.

Your skills and experience

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in the design and delivery of wet utility infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of water supply, wastewater, stormwater and irrigation systems.
• Experience preparing technical reports, specifications, calculations and construction documentation.
• Understanding of utility authority standards, requirements and approval processes.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and relevant hydraulic modelling software such as WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS and/or InfoDrainage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical review skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
• Membership of a relevant professional institution or working towards professional accreditation preferred.
