Job Title

Amadeus Business Consulting (ABC) is a global unit and an integral part of the GSS – Global Accounts & Strategic Sales organization within the Amadeus Travel Unit.

Our mission is to provide business consulting and transformation services to the travel industry for lasting business outcomes — acting as a Trusted Advisor to our customers and Growth Accelerator to Amadeus.

About the Role

As Amadeus Business Consulting evolves into a strategic, customer-vertical organization, the Head of Airports & Borders will lead the Airports & Borders vertical, covering airports, border management, seamless travel, and biometrics.

The role owns the vertical’s value proposition, senior customer stakeholders, and growth agenda across airports, border management, and the seamless travel and biometrics domain.

The role proactively drives direct consulting revenue and the pull-through of Amadeus solutions (ACV), delivered through the Regions on a shared, centralized pool of consultants.

Key Responsibilities

Own and grow the Airports & Borders vertical

• Define the vertical’s value proposition and multi-year strategy.
• Build the pipeline and drive both direct consulting revenue and influenced Amadeus solution revenue (ACV).
• Develop business across airports, border and immigration authorities, and seamless travel and biometrics customers.

Own senior customer stakeholders

• Build and sustain Trusted Advisor relationships with C- and D-level leaders at airports, Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs), border agencies, and travel-facilitation bodies.
• Provide analytical insight and business judgment to support senior customer decision-making.

Deliver through the Regions and shared Delivery Pool

• Work with the Regions and shared Delivery Pool to deliver the vertical’s consulting engagements.
• Build the vertical’s intellectual property together with Operations & Capabilities, including repeatable offers, value studies, and thought leadership.
• Further develop the Seamless Travel and biometrics proposition within the vertical.

Build and lead the vertical team

• Recruit, develop, and mentor consultants and SMEs anchored to Airports & Borders.
• Grow domain expertise and bench strength as the practice scales from launch through steady state.

Contribute to ABC’s strategy and operating model

• Contribute to ABC’s strategy and operating model as a member of the Head of ABC’s leadership team.
• Shape resourcing and cross-vertical initiatives.
• Contribute to the shift of ABC from a support-and-delivery function into a strategic capability.
• Represent ABC and Amadeus as a thought leader in airports, borders, and seamless travel.

About You

You bring senior experience in consulting, strategy, or a relevant industry environment, with experience working with senior stakeholders and developing business opportunities.

You will ideally bring:

• Significant experience in management consulting, business consulting, strategy, or a related advisory environment.
• Knowledge of the airport, aviation, border management, immigration, seamless travel, or biometrics ecosystem.
• Experience defining strategies, value propositions, and growth agendas.
• Experience developing consulting pipelines and driving consulting revenue.
• Experience engaging with C-level and senior executive stakeholders.
• Degree from a reputable university, preferably with an MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
• Experience recruiting, developing, and mentoring consultants or subject-matter experts.
• Experience working effectively across a global, matrix organization and collaborating with Regional teams and shared delivery functions.
• Strategic, analytical, and commercial capabilities, combined with sound business judgment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to represent ABC and Amadeus as a thought leader within the industry.
