We are seeking a proactive and experienced Accountant (AR) to manage the Accounts Receivable function. Working within an agile finance team, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, managing timely collections, and supporting the broader business functions. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Accounts Receivable Management
•    Follow up with clients and the Sales team to ensure timely collection of receivables.
•    Reconcile customer accounts and send periodic Statements of Account (SOAs).
•    Manage the end-to-end revenue recognition process in line with IFRS and company policies.
•    Maintain strong relationships with clients to support smooth collection activities.


2. General Accounting & Month-End Closing


•    Prepare, record, update, and file all financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
•    Complete weekly and month-end closing tasks as per the assigned checklist.
•    Maintain accurate reconciliations for AR, payroll, petty cash, and other general ledger accounts.
•    Support preparation of weekly and monthly financial reports for management review.


3. Cross Department Coordination
•    Work closely with Projects, Production, Sales, Operations, and other teams to ensure financial data is accurate and aligned.
•    Communicate proactively to validate project-related costs, revenues, and supporting documents.
•    Collaborate internally to resolve discrepancies and maintain seamless financial workflows.


4. Cash & Petty Cash Management
•    Manage petty cash floats, ensuring proper documentation and accurate recording.
•    Reconcile all cash transactions regularly and maintain compliance with company authorization procedures.


5. Audit, Compliance & Documentation
•    Support annual audit preparations by providing schedules, explanations, and required documents.
•    Assist in year-end closing and fulfil statutory reporting requirements.
•    Ensure strict adherence to the company’s financial policies, authorization protocols, and accounting standards.
•    Maintain organized filing of all financial documents 


6. Financial Analysis & Process Improvement
•    Analyze revenue aging and highlight risk areas regarding collections.
•    Identify and propose enhancements to financial workflows to increase efficiency


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE


•    Degree in Accounting or Finance.
•    Professional qualifications (CA, ACCA, CPA, etc.) are highly desirable.
•    3–5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable / General Accounting roles.
•    Strong knowledge and application of IFRS.
•    Experience with QuickBooks / Reckon is highly desirable; ability to learn new systems quickly is essential.
•    Prior UAE experience preferred.
•    Experience in Marine Contracting / Manufacturing is an advantage.
•    Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ability to build financial models is a plus.
