Business Unit Overview
The International Private Wealth & Family Office ("IPW & FO") team within International Tax Services / Mergers & Acquisitions business unit is the market leader in the Middle East for international wealth structuring, family office and private capital advisory services. The team advises GCC's wealthiest families, as well as hundreds of international families, on wealth structuring, family office setup, governance, succession planning and asset protection. The team also regularly advises government entities across the GCC in the context of the design of HNWI and family office attraction programmes.
Our services encompass owners' strategy and governance design, wealth and tax structuring (including trusts, foundations, limited partnerships and holding companies), family office setup and licensing, corporate and family governance frameworks, succession planning, and asset protection solutions. The team provides 360° capabilities for individuals and family offices, offering a tailored, bespoke service to every client.
The IPW & FO team is an award-winning practice, having been recognised at the WealthBriefing MENA Awards in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 for categories including Best Tax Team Servicing Private Clients, Best Estate Planning Service, Best Family Office Advisory Service and Best Tax & Accountancy Team.
How You’ll Contribute
As a Manager within the IPW & FO team under ITS/M&A, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality advisory and structuring services to private clients and family offices from Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS. You will work on sophisticated cross-border engagements, collaborating closely with Partners, Directors, and multidisciplinary teams across the Middle East and the wider PwC international network.
Responsibilities include:
- Advising HNW/UHNW clients and family offices from Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS on international tax planning and wealth structuring, asset protection, succession planning, family office setup and governance solutions
- Managing and reviewing deliverables across private client advisory and structuring engagements, including feasibility assessments, comparative structural analyses and implementation support
- Acting as a primary point of contact for private clients and internal stakeholders on IPW & FO matters
- Supporting the design and implementation of ownership structures using vehicles such as trusts, foundations, holding companies and limited partnerships across jurisdictions
- Advising on family office setup and licensing, including regulatory considerations across UAE free zones and international jurisdictions
- Supporting owners' strategy processes, family governance workshops and the development of family constitutions.
- Collaborating with ITS/M&A teams to support transactions, restructurings and post-deal integration activities
- Coaching and developing team members, ensuring quality delivery, consistency and effective knowledge sharing
- Working closely with PwC global network teams on multi-jurisdictional private client engagements
- Contributing to thought leadership, internal training and proposal development within the IPW & FO practice
What You’ll Bring
- 5–6 years of PQE, with demonstrable experience in international tax, private wealth structuring, asset protection and succession planning, ideally involving HNW/UHNW individuals and family offices; experience within an international law firm environment as an advantage.
- Familiarity with fiduciary structures (trusts and foundations), corporate holding structures and the legal and tax considerations relevant to international wealth planning as an advantage.
- At least 2–3 years of experience independently managing cross-border projects, client relationships and junior team members within an international professional services or single-family or multi-family office environment.
- Full professional proficiency in English (CEFR C1–C2 or equivalent professional proficiency) and Russian, including the ability to advise and draft in both languages in a professional legal/tax context; additional language capabilities (including French, Arabic) as an advantage.
- Strong academic credentials from a leading law school (including MSU, HSE, MGIMO, VAVT), preferably with exposure to Russian/CIS legal systems or from a leading equivalent law school in another country.
- A Tax LL.M. or ADIT from a leading institution (e.g. NYU, WU Vienna, Leiden or equivalent) as an advantage.
- UK Solicitor qualification (SQE) or New York Bar admission as a plus.
- STEP membership and willingness to pursue TEP qualification as an advantage.
- UAE Corporate Tax qualification/diploma and familiarity with the UAE/GCC tax landscape, including knowledge of UAE free zone and family office regulatory frameworks (DIFC, ADGM, DMCC, DWTC) as an advantage.
