The Manager IT Programs (Offer and Order) has overall accountability for the execution and delivery of all IT project streams running under the PSS Modernization prrogram undertaken by the flydubai IT Department. Manages oversight and status of all projects in the Program portfolio and uses this oversight to support project-level activity to ensure the strategic flydubai IT.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Key Activities
1. Responsible for running complex programs and projects, this includes handling all tasks that are involved in project initiation, execution and turn over to production.
2. Ensures that all the technology projects follow the standard procedures that are used in the flydubai management and deployment of projects – adherence to flydubai PMO standards.
3. Undertakes strategy creation for contingency planning and project risk mitigation across the flydubai project portfolio.
4. Responsible for planning and scheduling project goals, milestones and deliverables to ensure conflict amongst the project portfolio does not occur (resourcing conflict and technology conflict).
5. Defines and maintains standards and procedures for all parts of the project life cycle.
6. Oversees and leads the project management team (Project Managers, and Business Analysts), this includes mentoring and coaching, conflict resolution, bi annual performance appraisals, and other HR duties.
7. Provides decision-making that cannot be achieved at project level, provides a flydubai project portfolio perspective on individual projects, and acts as a sounding board for ideas and approaches to solving individual project issues and conflict resolution.
8. Identify and manage cross-project dependencies and risks, identifying economies of scale and project goal overlap where applicable.
9. Decides resources for project and programme initiatives.
10. Identifies and solves project issues effectively.
11. Develops RFP (Requests for Proposals) for external services.
12. Performs vendor assessments and evaluations.
13. Designs, maintains and audits project and technical documentation.
14. Reports the project progress as well as the problems, with accompanying solutions, to management stakeholders.
15. Works with the IT Management team to formulate an IT department strategy, annual budget and three to five year IT road map.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
Minimum Qualification
• A university degree in IT, engineering or equivalent
Experience
• 10 years’ + experience in technology Project Management (infrastructure and software development projects).
• 2 years’ + experience in aviation IT sector
• Experience in delivery of large software development and infrastructure projects.
• Experience of managing a programme of projects
• Proven experience in people management, direct team management, risk management and change management
Knowledge / Skills
• In-depth understanding of project management methodologies and management strategies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project and Office suite
• Knowledge of airline industry practices, processes, and applications
Certificate / License required
• PMI and ITIL certification
• SIX Sigma accreditation an advantage
