JOB TITLE

Director of Finance looking for a Five Star Hotel, Downtown in Dubai.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties:

 Establish and monitor financial controls to safeguard divisional/corporate assets and
to ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently.
 Able to develop an efficient and professional team of employees within the Finance
and Accounting Department.
 Ensure that the Finance and Accounting department runs smoothly so that all
financial and management reports are accurate and available by their due dates.
 Ensure that the books, records, and accounts are maintained accurately and fairly
reflect the transactions and administration of the Hotel.
 Participate in the employee performance appraisal process, providing feedback as
needed.
 Conduct monthly performance reviews with the General manager and HODs and establish
a combined action plan.
 Establish a strong and professional relationship with the owner and asset managers.
 Work closely with the General Manager and Owner of the property to ensure
timely submission of financial and management reports and discuss long-term
business plans based on these reports and meeting the organisation’s strategic goals.
 Provide training in the hotel to enhance the financial skills of the management team
as a whole.
 Monitor all applicable local tax compliance, ensuring that taxes are charged
correctly and collected. File the local tax with the concerned authority on a
monthly/regular basis.
 Liaise with company treasury and corporate finance on cash flow, finance policies,
reports, audits, and insurance matters.
 Liaise with external and internal auditors and ensure their findings and
recommendations are implemented in the respective department.
 Monitor and improve hotel operation costs, and profitability and manage business risk.

Requirements / Skills:

 The candidate should be a qualified accountant in CA / CPA or equivalent with a
minimum of 8 – 10 years of UAE experience in the Hotel Industry.
 Strong communication and writing skills
 Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
 Proficiency in computer software of the Hotel industry with property management
system and Microsoft Office.
 Good leadership and team management skills
 Be self-motivated, able to work professionally, and handle work pressure.
