Contract Manager

We are looking for a superstar Contracts Management expert responsible for overseeing governance of complex advisory services/joint venture contracts, the ideal candidate will have a blend of technical, legal, and management skills. 

The contracts manager will be responsible for managing key contracts of the business unit overseeing the implementation of those contracts, ensuring compliance, and identifying and minimizing contractual risk and due process to meet the contractual requirements.


The contracts manager will serve as point of contact with Legal in contractual matters and with all other relevant stakeholders with a view to monitor contract compliance with established procedures. 


This work is managerial in nature, needs to coordinate with other managers inside the organization and support teams from EITC and will require discussions and presentations up to Managing Director level. It reports to the UAE Operations Director, with a dotted line to the Legal Department.


The objective of the role is to create a contract management / governance playbook, detailing the contractual obligations of both parties, a calendar for implementation and creating robust processes for the Management Team to follow.


This role demands a unique combination of industry-specific knowledge and general contract management expertise, ensuring the successful governance of complicated advisory services and joint venture contracts in the telecommunications sector.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES...


The role comprises managing complex in-life contracts and requires the following:

  • Understanding all requirements and obligations applicable to both EITC and the partners, and being versed in the contract details, including ICT technical requirements, customer experience, governance, and obligations.
  • Overseeing performance and implementation of key contracts, for the purposes of minimizing contractual risk;
  • Maintaining and tracking contractual records, including communications between the parties, etc.
  • Developing and implementing procedures and policies, to ensure robust in life contact management and that the operations and day-to-day business run smoothly in compliance with the relevant key contracts, and that any deviations from the contractual terms are promptly identified and addressed;
  • Assisting the Managing Director in preparing contract-related documentation;
  • Identifying and monitoring any contract-related problems and risk and proposing solutions and ways of mitigating risk to senior stakeholders; 
  • Communicating and presenting information to relevant internal stakeholders about all contract-related matters;
  • Actively mentoring/ training individual team members on policies and procedures to monitor contract compliance; 
  • Measuring performance of key contracts and producing required dashboards, developing, and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.


Specifically, in relation to two key contracts, the role requires the following:

  • Reviewing the contracts and having an in-depth understanding of the contract terms and the parties’ obligations, including details related to ICT requirements, specifications and obligations;
  • Summarizing and preparing presentations on the parties’ rights and obligations;
  • Discussing with relevant stakeholders to assess compliance and identify any areas of contractual risk/ deviations/ breach by the parties;
  • Proposing action plans/ ways of mitigating/ addressing contractual risk;
  • Establishing processes and policies to monitor performance and compliance;
  • Train team members in relation to the contractual terms and obligations and on the implementation of the established processes and policies.   


Skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Law, Telecommunications, or a related field


Experience:

  • Previous contract management experience.
  • An understanding of Joint Venture, Partnership agreements and advisory agreements is required.
  • Extensive experience in contract management, particularly in the digital / telecommunications sector.
  • Deep understanding of the telecommunications industry, including trends, technologies, and regulatory environment.
  • Experience and creativity in finding win-win solutions during negotiations or disputes.

  • Capability to foresee industry trends and adapt contract governance accordingly.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences in international joint ventures.
  • Strong ethical standards to ensure fairness and transparency.
