This role is integral to our operations, ensuring that orders are accurately picked, carefully packaged, and efficiently prepared for shipment.
Responsibilities:
Utilize picking lists or digital pick-to-light systems to locate and retrieve items from designated storage locations within the warehouse.
Inspect items for quality, accuracy, and condition, verifying product codes, quantities, and specifications against order requirements.
Package items securely and appropriately for shipment, using packaging materials, wrapping, and labeling techniques to ensure safe transportation and delivery.
Operate packaging machinery, such as tape dispensers, shrink wrap machines, and pallet jacks, following safety guidelines and equipment instructions.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize orders, coordinate picking and packaging tasks, and meet daily production targets and deadlines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the picking and packaging area, including removing empty boxes, disposing of packaging materials, and keeping workstations tidy.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols for handling, storing, and transporting inventory items and hazardous materials.
Conduct regular inventory checks and cycle counts to reconcile discrepancies, identify stock shortages or overages, and update inventory records as needed.
Assist with loading and unloading trucks, palletizing items, and staging orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the logistics process.
Communicate effectively with warehouse supervisors, shipping/receiving teams, and customer service representatives to resolve order discrepancies, address customer inquiries, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent qualification required; additional education or training in warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain management preferred.
Previous experience in picking, packing, or order fulfillment roles within a warehouse or distribution center preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning technology, and inventory control processes is advantageous.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy to ensure the correct selection, packaging, and labeling of orders, minimizing errors and discrepancies.
Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors to achieve common goals.
