We are seeking an experienced Head of Compliance to join our organization and lead our compliance efforts in the United Arab Emirates. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of various UAE/MENA regulatory frameworks, particularly in Fintech/Blockchain industry, and a proven track record in developing and implementing effective compliance programs. The CCO will play a critical role in ensuring that our operations adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Stay tuned of UAE regulatory developments and ensure the organization's compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Develop and update compliance policies and procedures in alignment with UAE regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and assess compliance risks, implementing measures to mitigate identified risks.
- Implement training programs to educate employees on compliance matters, ensuring a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
- Establish and oversee monitoring mechanisms to track compliance with regulatory requirements. Provide regular reports to senior management and regulatory authorities.
- Oversee internal investigations into compliance issues, ensuring thorough and timely resolution.
- Collaborate with internal and external audit teams to ensure compliance audits are conducted regularly and recommendations are implemented.
- Serve as a key advisor to senior management on compliance matters, providing insights on regulatory changes and potential impacts on the business.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with regulatory authorities, industry associations, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Stay informed about international compliance standards and best practices, ensuring the organization's alignment with global compliance norms.
Skills
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Law advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager) is a plus.
· Proven experience as a Chief Compliance Officer or a similar senior role.
· In-depth knowledge of UAE regulatory frameworks, with a focus on [Specify Relevant Laws and Regulations in UAE/MENA, ADGM, DIFC].
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and mitigate compliance risks.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex compliance issues to diverse audiences.
· Leadership experience in managing compliance teams and implementing compliance programs.
· Experience collaborating with regulatory bodies and industry associations.
· Ability to adapt to changing regulatory environments and drive a culture of compliance within the organization.
