Planning Engineer

Job Description

  • Plan, organize and coordinate all planning activities and secure full control and appropriate coordination in this aspect.
  • Prepare and develop the master schedule for design and/or construction phases of the project at tendering stage including the estimate of construction periods of tendered projects.
  • Review Contractor’s submitted Planning Package including the Construction Methodology, detailed Baseline Program, the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), the manpower histogram, the plant histogram, the cash flow diagram, etc.
  • Review and assess the updated time schedules and progress reports submitted regularly by the Contractor, perform critical path analysis and identify areas of concern.
  • Follow up and monitor the project budget during the design and construction stages.
  • Check and approve the planning techniques, logic and sequence of activities proposed by the Contractor’s Planning Engineer for executing the project.
  • Prepare regular reports to the Client showing the project’s status in coordination with the Contractor’s Planning Engineer and the Project Manager.
  • Liaise with the Contractor throughout the construction period and make adjustments and/or revisions to the Baseline Program as may be necessary and valid.
  • Maintain Client’s full satisfaction in respect of project planning requirements and progress monitoring services.
  • Review and monitor Contractor's follow up logs for engineering works and submittals including shop drawings, materials, method statements, in additions to the order and delivery of long lead items.
  • Prepare, maintain and update a risk register for the project in addition to issues follow up log.
  • Review and assess the earned value analysis and cost & schedule performance indices prepared by the Contractor.
  • Establish Cost Control Baseline for the project and prepare monthly cost reports for the Client including updated S-Curves and update Project Dashboard.
  • Set up alerts for all important contractual milestone dates and critical delays.
  • Participate in the weekly and monthly progress meetings, presentations and discussions.
  • Assess the Extension of Time (EOT) Claims submitted by the Contractor including detailed assessment of submitted delay analysis.
  • Participate in the preparation, completion and review of the project close-out report including as-built project schedule.

Skills

Requirements:

  • Experience working in villa projects with infrastructure in the UAE.
  • Engineering Degree is required
  • Total work experience minimum 8 years.
  • UAE work experience minimum 3 years.
  • UAE Consultancy experience minimum 3 years.
  • Candidates must be currently based in the UAE.
  • Prior Musanada experience and immediate availability is an advantage.
