Job Description:

Perform standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations, and follow standard work methods on recurring assignments. Install telecommunications equipment. Test and maintain radios and associated equipment. Gather and maintain specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc. Must be able to read and understand electronic drawings. Must possess working knowledge of RF circuitry and propagation, digital circuitry, and solid-state circuitry, along with familiarization of (TACSAT) radios, Frequency Modulated (FM) radio, Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems, wireless networks, and Microwave Line of Sight (MLOS) equipment.

Education Requirements: Two (2) years of college courses in engineering, electronics, or science are required. Additional experience may be substituted for education requirements.

Certification Requirements: DoD 8570 Baseline Certification requirements.

Experience Requirements: Two (2) years of specialized experience required. Additional experience may be substituted for education requirements. Ability to understand basic RF Networks/Systems (LMR/LOS Radios/ Microwave Systems/HF Radios/Tactical Stellite radios) terminology and operations. Previous experience with computer terminals is highly desirable.
