Job Summary
Rock Petroleum is currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. As an Accounts Assistant, you will provide support to the finance department in various accounting and administrative tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounting processes and contribute to the success of our organization.
Job Responsibilities
As an Accounts Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Assist with processing invoices, payments, and reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
- Financial Records Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting principles.
- Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of financial reports, statements, and budgets to provide insights into the company's financial health.
- Month-End and Year-End Closing: Assist with closing activities, including preparing journal entries and performing reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
- Petty Cash Management: Handle petty cash transactions and maintain the petty cash fund to ensure accountability and proper record-keeping.
- Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing and related tasks to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the finance department, including filing, data entry, and correspondence to ensure smooth operations.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members to ensure the timely and accurate completion of tasks and projects.
- Ad-Hoc Projects: Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by supervisors to contribute to the overall success of the finance team.
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you should:
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or be currently pursuing one).
- Have a basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Exhibit excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
