  1. Inventory Management:
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of pharmaceutical products.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage stock rotation to prevent expirations and shortages.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  1. Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding medication storage and handling.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and implement necessary changes in warehouse practices.
  • Prepare and submit required documentation and reports to regulatory authorities.
  1. Quality Assurance:
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the integrity and safety of medications.
  • Manage and investigate any issues related to medication quality, such as recalls or discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper storage conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.) for different types of medications.
  1. Logistics and Distribution:
  • Coordinate the efficient distribution of medications to pharmacies, healthcare facilities, and other designated locations.
  • Manage logistics and transportation to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  1. Staff Supervision:
  • Oversee and train warehouse staff, including pharmacy technicians and support personnel.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse operations.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and development opportunities for team members.
  1. Record Keeping and Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, transactions, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure proper documentation for incoming and outgoing shipments, including product specifications and lot numbers.
  1. Safety and Security:
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect staff and ensure safe handling of medications.
  • Manage security measures to prevent theft, loss, or unauthorized access to medications.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in warehouse management.
  • Stay informed about advancements in warehouse technology and pharmacy practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
  • Licensure: Valid state pharmacy license.
  • Experience: Previous experience in warehouse management or a similar role is preferred. Experience in pharmacy practice is also advantageous.
