Job Summary

 

A marketing and communications manager supervises and develops a company's marketing and communications strategy and is responsible for the design and distribution of its brand. They help create marketing plans that attract more customers and work with others, including content creators, copywriters, and PR officers, to ensure that an organization's publications, advertisements, and digital content reach the target audience.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:

 

Strategic:

  • Developing the Function’s work plan and assigning related activities to serve the achievement of the Function/ Department's goals.
  • Supervising the implementation of the Function’s plans, monitoring workflow, and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. - Ensuring that instructions, circulars, and organizational and operational decisions are followed and applied.
  • Ensuring that work activities are carried out according to the pre-set performance goals and suggesting any necessary actions to the direct supervisor.
  • Participating in setting the Function’s budget, in addition to monitoring and controlling the expenditure in coordination with the Finance Function.


Technical & Executive:

  • Managing and overseeing the analysis stage on marketing communication briefs developed by Marketing and Business Development functions, in order to develop suitable advertising plans and marketing campaigns.
  • Ensuring maintaining the company’s brand image and corporate identity, creating, and increasing brand awareness, in addition to ensuring brand consistency throughout all activities and operations.
  • Supervising the designing, production, and distribution of marketing and advertisement material, in coordination with external and internal concerned parties.
  • Guiding and supervising the company’s social media efforts and providing feedback and directions in regard to social media plans and strategies.
  • Identifying potential agreements with advertising and marketing agencies, and establishing, negotiating, and maintaining agreements, in addition to constantly evaluating the performance of the vendors and service providers.
  • Sales Support; devise innovative strategies and campaigns to support the sales team, in order to generate high-quality new sales leads.
  • Ensure all product information and details are accurate across website and digital channels.
  • Proven track record in customer acquisition and retention ideally in company products.


Administrative:

  • Conducting periodic meetings with direct reports to ensure that priorities are clear and workflow is running smoothly.
  • Preparing periodic reports concerning the function’s activities and achievements.
  • Ensuring manpower requirements are met according to specified manpower plans.
  • Appraising direct reports’ performance according to scheduled plans and recommending necessary actions as per the applied practices.
  • Satisfying the direct reports’ training needs and evaluating the outcomes of training courses and making changes as and when needed.
  • Approving direct reports’ administrative affairs such as vacations, leaves…etc.
  • Nominating a deputy to carry out the responsibilities of the position whenever the need arises.
  • Brand; Manage, develop, and control the brand in all media both internally and externally.
  • Corporate Communications; manage and develop corporate communications to customers such as newsletters, briefings, and other such communications.
  • Campaign Management; work with the marketing team to develop integrated marketing campaigns that reach our audience in the most time and cost-effective way. All campaigns should be integrated with sales to ensure timely and effective follow-up to maximize ROI.
  • Internal Communications; manage and deliver a consistent message to employees to drive engagement.


Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required (Marketing, Communications).
  • 10 years of experience in marketing and e-commerce.
  • Experience developing and executing digital marketing strategy, social media (organic and paid), website, mobile, and app.
  • A proven background in business-to-business marketing, with extensive general marketing and communications experience.
  • Expertise in developing integrated communications programs, drawing on all areas of the marketing mix including direct marketing, CRM, events, and digital channels.
  • Experience in media, corporate, and public affairs directly and through agencies.
  • Expertise in brand management.
  • Ability to identify key messages, audiences, and channels and formulate a communications strategy across them all.
  • Strong communication skills including copywriting.
  • Ability to travel Baghdad, Dubai, Jordan & Africa.
