This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders and third-party providers to streamline processes, ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, and enhance operational efficiency as the organization continues to scale. The position requires strategic planning, disciplined execution, strong partner governance, and the ability to manage complex, multi-regional projects while maintaining high standards of service delivery and operational integrity.ResponsibilitiesLead operational projects supporting Deel's expansion into new countries and regions. Develop and implement processes to ensure smooth entry into new markets, focusing on compliance, legal, and payroll operations. Collaborate with Product, Legal, HR, Finance, and other teams to ensure operational readiness for new market launches. Oversee the onboarding of new global entities, including tax, legal, and compliance requirements. Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in operational workflows and implement solutions to streamline processes. Manage cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful launches in new regions. Develop and maintain operational documentation, including workflows, SOPs, and launch checklists. Monitor and report on the performance of new market operations, providing insights to leadership on areas for improvement. Ensure that all expansion initiatives are compliant with local laws and regulations. Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members, helping them develop their skills and contribute to expansion projects. Provide leadership and oversight to the team responsible for managing relationships with external international payroll partners (ICPs), ensuring adherence to SLAs, performance KPIs, and compliance standards. Serve as the executive escalation point for partner-supported countries, supporting issue resolution and driving continuous operational improvement across regions. Guide the evaluation, selection, and onboarding of new ICPs where required, overseeing due diligence, contracting inputs, and operational readiness in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders. Establish and enhance governance frameworks, performance reviews, and communication cadences with external partners to ensure consistent service delivery, accountability, and risk mitigation.Qualifications7+ years of experience in operations, expansion, or project management, with a focus on global growth.3+ years of experience managing or leading a team. Strong understanding of global expansion processes, including legal, tax, and payroll operations. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams to execute complex projects across multiple countries. Exceptional project management and governance skills with a track record of leading multi-country initiatives, delivering on-time and on-budget results. Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
