Roles & Responsibilities

• EHS 

  • Performs the tasks in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with the company’s operating procedures and safety regulations. 

  • 100%complition of OH&S awareness trainings. 

  • Follow 3 “R” Policy—Reduce, Reuse &Recycle. 

  • Attend Safe start trainings as per schedule. 

  • Strictly Follow wet weather procedure during rainy weather conditions for scrap handling. 

  • Identifies unsafe acts/ Hazards in work area and inform supervisor for further action to achieve Zero LTI. 

  • Always follow EGA Life Saving Rules. (9 Rules) 

  
  

  Training and Skills Development 

  Employee must be competent in below given all training tasks before assigning in to shift. 

  He must be competent to perform all the tasks and functions of Utility Operator as expected after completion of below given training modules. 

  • CH/TRG.13.00. F03-- General tasks – DC Casting/ DC Furnace (CH-1 & 2) 

  • CH/TRG.13.00. F04-- General Tasks – Homo / Saw (CH-1 & 2) 

  • CH/TRG.13.00. F06-- Overhead Pendant Crane–Billet Operation (CH-1, & 2) 

  • CH/TRG.13.00. F10-- Forklift Tasks - DC Casting / DC Furnace (CH-1&2) 

  • CH/TRG.13.00. F11-- Forklift Tasks – Homo/Saw (CH-1 & 2). 

  
  

  People Management 

  (Major Activities &Key Result Areas) 

  • Works well within the team performing his role effectively. 

  • Receive and carryout work instructions from operators in DC Furnace/DC Casting or Homo &Sawing Operations, in conjunction with the daily production plan assigned by shift supervisor. 

  • Preparation and arrangement of spares and tools—Kawool, Plug Cones & Bars, Break launders, Tundish Launders, Sampling Moulds/Spoons. 

  • Check &Carry out Scrap segregation and arrangements at DC furnaces as per alloy requirements through SSM System. 

  • Assists the operator in Arranging alloying elements. 

  • Assists the operator in DC Stationary/Tilting Furnaces preparation. 

  • Overhead crane operation-Hot metal Crucible handling and direct pouring through tundish launder/Pouring through tilt table operation. 

  • Scrap Charging and Sampling as per requirement. 

  • Carries out dross bins shifting to Dross press machines on time and arranging well prepared dross bins at furnaces with forklift. 

  • Assist the operator/Team members in DC Casting Operations. 

  • Casting Launders preparation. 

  • Furnace spout preparation. 

  • Spares and tools arrangement and preparation. (Filters, Wind socks, Mould cleaners, Skimmer tools, Sampling moulds/spoons) 

  • Degasser unit preparation (Before and after casting). 

  • Assists the team in Cast start and cast end. 

  • Shifting of drain metal bins, used filter/windsock hoppers and arranging empty one. 

  • Assists in Sow Casting section for crucible pouring, skimming, stripping and sow preparation. 

  • Assist the operator/Snr Operator in Sawing operations. (Finishing section) 

  • Scrap hoppers shifting to furnace area with SSM Tickets creation and empty hoppers arrangement. 

  • Labelling and marking on the billet bundles 

  • Assist in Loading of jumbo strapping coil at Billet Saws. 

  • Pneumatic Banding operations. 

  • Scrap bundles shifting with SSM Tickets. 

  • Forklift operation in finishing section for bundles lifting & scrap hoppers changing. 

  • Finish goods bundles oil cleaning and rework. 

  • Reallocation bundles/Dark colour bundles washing. 

  • Wood runners off loading and runner’s area arrangement. 

  
  

  Machine 

  • Assists in carrying out the tasks delegated to him by operators as per his training completion in production areas.  

  • Keep the working area and equipment clean and tidy to ensure a high standard of safety and housekeeping. 

  
  

  Production  

  • Contributes in achieving shift’s production target in terms of both quality and quantity as directed by department supervisor or his designate.  

  Standard 

  • Follow the casting operations, metallurgical and safety procedures as per EGA Quality Management system and as per the requirements of International standards – IATF 16949—2016 & ISO/IEC 17025:2017, ISO 45001 and OHSAD 18001 and Environmental Management Systems as directed by department supervisor or his designate. 

  
  

  Miscellaneous 

  • Actively participate in Suggestion scheme.  

  • Hazards Identification/Reporting as per target 

  • Keeps work area and equipment neat and clean, maintain 5S always. 

  • He must be physically fit and prepared to work in shift duties. (8 hrs/12 hrs) 

Desired Candidate Profile

• Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 12th grade High School Certificate.  

  • UAE Nationals: minimum 8 class & Successful completion of PEC Smelter training programme 

  
  

  Minimum Experience: 

  • One year of experience in heavy industry is preferable. 

  
  

  Skills: 

  • Completion of the following in-house courses: 

  • Respiratory, 

  • Aluminum Water Explosions and Electrical hazards. 

  • Good team player. 

  • Well Familiar with Waste Management system. 

  • Familiar with Cast house Emergency procedures. 

  • Ability to speak and write in English  

  • Hazards Identification/Reporting course. 

  • Must be well familiar with Basic OHS courses. 

  • Possession of Forklift-8A-category Driving License.
