Job Purpose: The Technical Design Engineer – Joinery Division is responsible for overseeing alltechnical, engineering, and production-related aspects of joinery manufacturing projects,ensuring designs, shop drawings, and production processes meet client specifications, projecttmelines, and quality standards. The role acts as the key technical liaison between design,production, and project teams.
Key Responsibilities:Review and approve technical drawings, shop drawings, and design submittals forjoinery production. Coordinate with design, engineering, and production teams to ensure feasibility andmanufacturability of designs. Provide technical guidance and resolve design or production-related discrepancies. Liaise with clients, consultants, and main contractors on technical submittals, RFIs, andapprovals. Develop / monitor material specifications, finishes, and hardware selec????on in line withproject requirements. Support estimation and tendering teams with technical input for new projects. Conduct technical reviews of BOQs, specifica????ons, and contract documents. Monitor production quality against approved drawings and specifications. Identify and resolve technical issues arising during production or site installation. Mentor and guide junior technical/design staff within the division. Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and company SOPs. Prepare technical reports and documentation as required by management. Optimize production methods to improve productivity and reduce material wastages. Support CNC programming and machinery utilization.
Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, or related field. Minimum 10 years of experience in joinery, millwork, or interior fit-out manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a technical role. Strong knowledge of joinery materials, manufacturing processes, and finishing techniques. with particular expertise in Italian joinery craftsmanship and high-end leather upholstery/finishing. Hands-on experience working with or trained within Italian furniture/joinery manufacturing standards and techniques preferred. Proficiency in Auto CAD, and familiarity with 3D modeling/design software. Experience handling technical submittals for fit-out or interior projects in the UAE/GCC region preferred.
