Role Description The Shuttering Carpenter role is a full-time, on-site position based in Dubai. The Shuttering Carpenter is responsible for constructing, installing, and dismantling shuttering (formwork) for concrete structures such as foundations, columns, beams, slabs, and walls according to drawings and specifications. Daily tasks include measuring and marking materials, cutting and assembling timber or other formwork materials, using hand tools and power tools safely, and ensuring alignment and stability of all shuttering work. The role also involves coordinating with site supervisors, maintaining a clean and safe work area, following health and safety regulations, and assisting with related carpentry and finishing tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Strong carpentry skills with experience in shuttering/formwork, including foundations, columns, beams, and slabs. Proficiency in using hand tools (e.g., hammers, saws, measuring tapes) and power tools (e.g., drills, circular saws) safely and efficiently. Experience in structural framing and basic finish carpentry for concrete-related construction projects. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and measurements accurately. Knowledge of construction site safety practices and willingness to follow all safety guidelines and PPE requirements. Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working in outdoor conditions. Previous experience as a shuttering carpenter or in a similar role in the construction industry, preferably in Dubai or the GCC region. Basic communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages commonly used on construction sites is an advantage.
