Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator (DBALocation: Abu Dhabi Duration: 7-8 Month
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with deep expertise in Oracle RAC, Data Guard (including Active Data Guard), and Golden Gate. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, security, and reliability of enterprise-level Oracle databases. This role requires strong technical skills in database administration, partitioning strategies, backup and recovery, performance tuning, monitoring, and hands-on experience in managing large-scale production environments.
Key Responsibilities Core Database Administration Administer Oracle Database 12c and 19c in production environments. Install, configure, and manage Oracle RAC, including Grid Infrastructure and ASM-related tasks:Migrating LUNs to new storage. Adding and dropping ASM disks from disk groups. Creating new diskgroups. Creating and managing additional listeners and network interfaces. Backing up OCR/Voting disks and verifying cluster configurations. Perform routine DBA tasks including index rebuilds, statistics gathering, tablespace management, partitioning, materialized view (MView) maintenance, and backups. Manage tablespaces across ASM diskgroups and reorganize where required. Clone databases for testing and development. Perform database exports/imports using both exp/imp and expdp/impdp.
Skills & Qualifications8+ years of proven experience as an Oracle DBA. Strong expertise in Oracle RAC, Data Guard/Active Data Guard, and Golden Gate. Hands-on experience with Oracle Database 12c and 19c. In-depth knowledge of table partitioning techniques and performance implications. Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL development, and query tuning. Hands-on experience with RMAN backup/recovery and cloning. Strong understanding of tablespace management, indexing strategies, and MViews. Solid knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and storage concepts (ASM, SAN/NAS, LUNs). Familiarity with OEM monitoring and diagnostics. Knowledge of Tivoli TSM backup integration. Shell scripting for automation (required). Working knowledge of SQL Server and IBM DB2. Oracle Certification (OCP/OCM) preferred.
Soft Skills Strong communication and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
