Role Overview
iSteer is looking for an experienced Apigee Architect to design, govern, and deliver enterprise API management solutions using the Google Apigee Platform. The role involves defining API strategies, API-led architecture, governance frameworks, security standards, lifecycle management practices, and providing technical leadership for enterprise digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Define enterprise API management architecture using Apigee.
Design scalable, secure, and reusable API solutions and API ecosystems.
Develop API strategy, governance models, lifecycle management practices, and implementation roadmaps.
Design and configure Apigee API Proxies, Products, Developers, Apps, Portals, Policies, and Flows.
Implement REST APIs, SOAP services, microservices, and backend integrations.
Define API security standards using OAuth, JWT, TLS, API Keys, and policies.
Design API gateway patterns, traffic management, caching, throttling, and rate limiting strategies.
Establish API governance standards and conduct API design reviews.
Ensure APIs meet enterprise requirements for security, performance, scalability, and compliance.
Design hybrid and cloud API management solutions across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud environments.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, architecture guidance, and solution reviews.
Collaborate with enterprise architects, developers, business teams, and delivery stakeholders.
Support production issues, API monitoring, troubleshooting, and platform optimization.
Drive Agile delivery, DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, and reusable API frameworks.
Leadership Responsibilities
Lead and mentor Apigee development and API engineering teams.
Define API architecture standards, best practices, and reusable frameworks.
Conduct API governance reviews, technical workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Participate in architecture councils and technology decision-making.
Support solution proposals, estimations, customer discussions, and technical presentations.
Required Experience
12+ years of enterprise integration and API management experience with strong Apigee architecture experience.
Extensive experience designing enterprise API platforms using Apigee Edge / Apigee X.
Strong understanding of API-led connectivity, API lifecycle management, and API governance.
Experience delivering large-scale API transformation and digital initiatives.
Proven experience in architecture governance, technical leadership, and stakeholder management.
Strong knowledge of API security, scalability, performance, and operational best practices.
