Early Years Outdoor Educator – Abu Dhabi About Noor al Shajar Noor al Shajar is a nature-based outdoor programme for children in Abu Dhabi. Based within the gardens and wooded areas of a horse-riding facility, we offer small-group outdoor sessions combining nature exploration, simple science, storytelling, crafts, movement, games and free play. Our regular morning programme is designed for children aged 2–4 accompanied by a parent or caregiver. We also organise afternoon sessions for children up to 8 years old, family treasure hunts, special events and camping nights. The Role We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and hands-on educator to prepare and lead our outdoor activities. This is not a traditional classroom teaching position. From November to April, sessions take place fully outdoors. You should genuinely enjoy being outside and be comfortable sitting on the ground, walking through the gardens, getting your hands dirty and occasionally sweating a little! Responsibilities include:Preparing and leading 3-hour outdoor sessions for children aged 2–4Leading afternoon activities for older children, up to 8 years old Preparing and running treasure hunts, nature challenges and camping nights Introducing children to nature through simple, age-appropriate science Learning about and sharing knowledge of UAE trees, plants, insects, birds and the local environment Leading storytelling, crafts, games, movement and exploration activities Preparing activity materials, props and decorations Hands-on preparation including cutting, painting, working with cardboard, fabrics and natural materials Setting up and packing away activities and equipment Helping develop new activities throughout the season Communicating confidently and warmly with children, parents and caregivers Following safety and safeguarding procedures Who We Are Looking For Personality and attitude are particularly important to us. You should be:Naturally enthusiastic, energetic and positive Curious and genuinely interested in nature Excited to learn about the UAE's natural environment Comfortable explaining simple science to children Creative and good with your hands Comfortable outdoors for several hours Happy to get dirty, sit on the floor and participate actively with the children Confident leading and entertaining groups of children Warm and patient with young children Independent, organised and reliable Fluent or highly proficient in English Comfortable working around horses Previous experience with children is strongly preferred. Formal teaching qualifications are welcome but are not the main criteria for this role. Basic knowledge of horses and horse safety would be appreciated, as the programme operates within a horse-riding facility. This is not a riding-instructor position. Practical Requirements Full-time position based in Abu Dhabi Valid driving licence Able to commute independently to the workplace No accommodation is provided First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to complete training Weekend availability is required for some events, treasure hunts and camping nights
