JOB VACANCY – BLASTING & PAINTING SUPERVISOR???? Abu Dhabi
We are looking for an experienced Blasting & Painting Supervisor with strong exposure to ship repair, drydocking and marine coating works.
Key Responsibilities:• Supervise blasting, surface preparation, paint mixing and coating application activities.• Plan manpower, equipment, abrasives, paint materials, access, ventilation and inspection readiness.• Ensure compliance with coating specifications, surface preparation standards and approved work procedures.• Monitor surface cleanliness, surface profile, ambient conditions, DFT/WFT, curing and coating defects.• Supervise work in tanks, void spaces, hull areas, decks and other shipboard locations.• Conduct toolbox talks and ensure permits, PPE, containment, ventilation, lighting and environmental controls are in place.• Coordinate with QA/QC, HSE, Project, Production and client/owner representatives for inspections and work clearance.• Control paint and abrasive consumption, equipment condition, housekeeping and waste disposal.• Monitor daily progress and ensure timely completion of assigned work fronts.
Requirements:• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in blasting and painting, preferably within ship repair, shipbuilding, drydock or marine industries.• Previous supervisory or team-leading experience is required.• Good knowledge of surface preparation standards, marine coating systems and corrosion protection requirements.• Familiarity with ISO/SSPC/NACE surface preparation practices and coating inspection requirements is preferred.• Experience working in confined spaces and other high-risk marine environments.• Ability to read coating specifications, work scopes and technical instructions.• Strong safety awareness and ability to supervise multicultural trade crews.
Candidates with direct ship repair and drydock experience will only be shortlisted.
